Big Pizza Chain Seeing Big Mobile Volume

According to a recent article in Mobile Marketing Magazine, the tremendous growth in Mobile among consumers is driving businesses to launch mobile apps and mobile websites to reach a broader market, drive sales and build brand loyalty. Chains such as Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Domino’s already have mobile apps that let customers order, pay and get deals from their phones. Now Pizza Hut has started focusing on mobile app technology to attract mobile consumers. This helps the chain compete with its competitors like Domino’s, while at the same time differentiating itself in a highly competitive industry.

Using Pizza Hut’s mobile app or mobile website, it takes less than one minute to order and pay, which is much faster than calling to order. Unlike laptop or PC, mobile can be used anywhere at anytime, so consumers can just open the mobile app or website to look over menus and order online food delivery. Plus, it is GPS-enabled so that mobile consumers can find the nearest Pizza Hut location and discover location-based offers.

Pizza Hut got 30 percent of deliveries and carryout traffic nationwide from online orders, with nearly half of online orders coming from mobile devices. This is a 4,000 percent increase in Pizza Hut mobile ordering since 2010, making mobile the company’s fastest growing area of business.  In this highly competitive industry, businesses that focus on convenience are attracting and retaining the most customers.
